I graduated from Indiana State University with a BS in secondary art education and later received an MA in art from the University of Evansville. After teaching secondary art for seven years, I migrated to guidance counseling.

About ten years prior to retirement and after a substantial hiatus from art, I began painting again. During that time, I was fortunate enough to enter shows and win a variety of awards, including an honorable mention, a best of show, a couple of creativity awards, and two purchase awards for private collections.

Since retiring in 2007, I have held several solo exhibitions, various group exhibitions and competitions, and was awarded an Indiana Arts Council Individual Artist Grant.

Two years ago, We moved to Plymouth, Indiana. But recent events have my momentary residence & studio in Kentland, Indiana where I currently devote my time and energy to art.

I suppose I am like most artists in that I hope to elicit and/or evoke some kind of response from a viewing audience and that hope is for the audience participant to experience as much satisfaction viewing the works as I had creating them.
